Two Memorable Days
GAT Esports Academy:
On September 5, the Bogotá Marriott Hotel will host an innovative academic agenda starting at 9:00 am. This space is designed to update knowledge and open a constructive dialogue on the current state of esports in the country. Key topics to be discussed include the integration of esports into university programs, pedagogy and neuroscience applied to the gaming world, marketing opportunities for brands targeting youth segments, esports monetization, esports betting, and virtual gaming.
The event will feature prominent speakers and panelists such as Ernesto Lucena Barrero, former Minister of Sports of Colombia and Delegate for Sports Rights at the Defensoría del Pueblo; Mauricio Parodi, Representative to the Chamber of the Congress of the Republic; Angel Beccassino, renowned publicist and political scientist; Jorge Mario Karam Rozo, Vice-Rector for Research at the Corporación Universitaria de Cataluña; sports law and gaming specialists from Brigard Urrutia, José Alejandro Sierra and Daniela Cañizares; Mario Agudelo from Universidad del Rosario; Natali Arenales from the National School of Sports; and Juan Carlos Cuervo, an expert in gamification and education. Leaders of the esports ecosystem in Colombia, such as José Luis Plata, CEO of ACE (Association of Esports Clubs), Eder Cardozo from Scrub Division, and Ricardo Velasco (8BitRichy), will also be present.
The gamification strategy for the academic day, with the participation of the audience, will be based on the virtual betting game with artificial intelligence, “Frente de Batalla,” a novelty created by the software company Mobadoo and soon to be launched on the BetPlay platform as part of its online gaming portfolio.
GAT Esports Academy will also include a closing panel with prominent sports journalists such as Javier Fernández ‘El Cantante del Gol’, José Agustín Martínez from RCN Antena 2, Ricardo Soler from Blu Radio, and Diana Rincón from Telemundo Deportes. The central topic of the forum will be the future of sports journalism in esports, viewed from the perspective of professional journalism, considering the arrival of esports to the Olympic Games and the challenges that this entails.
At the end of the afternoon on September 5 at the Marriott Hotel, awards will be presented to the winners of the gamification activity. José Aníbal Aguirre, CEO of GAT Events, announced that the organization and Pragmatic Play will host a reception for attendees of the GAT Esports Academy and special guests.
On September 6, as part of GAT Showcase Bogotá, an annual event that brings together the gaming industry, the Sheraton Bogotá Hotel will also be the center of the GAT Esports Exhibition, which will run from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the Santa Fe Hall. This space will be dedicated to the exhibition of esports industry products and services. The exhibition will also welcome other economic sectors and institutions related to esports, creating a favorable environment for exploring strategic partnerships.
GAT Esports promises to be an enriching experience for all participants, offering a platform for discussion, learning, and connection in the exciting world of esports.
